Cohort Organization

A/B Cohort Model Grades PK - 8

○ To the greatest extent practicable, cohorts will be divided alphabetically so that siblings are attending school on the same dates and times, unless special circumstances exist (IEP-related issues, G&T, Algebra and Pre-Algebra, Social Distancing Requirements, etc.). In such circumstances, siblings will be adjusted for ease of scheduling by parents.

▷ The Alphabetical cohort division follows:

Monday/Tuesday: Last name begins with A-L ○ Thursday/Friday: Last name begins with M-Z

slide-17
SLIDE 17

Equity of In-person Days

A “Parent Calendar” to be provided for Stage 2 planning purposes. As district moves to stage 3, Cohort Calendar will no longer be needed.

▷ Plan for when student / staff tests positive - CDC Guidelines and District Reopening Plan - Posted to Website ▷ Coordination with local health department to support contact tracing efforts - District Reopening Plan - Posted to Website ▷ Plan to ensure that indoor facilities have adequate ventilation

Per CDC / NJDOE

slide-37
SLIDE 37

AIR QUALITY & HVAC/FILTER MANAGEMENT

▷ Current NJ mechanical code requires that each space within our buildings to have a certain amount of outside ventilation air in order to maintain proper indoor air quality.

slide-38
SLIDE 38

AIR QUALITY & HVAC/FILTER MANAGEMENT

▷ In consultation with our Architect and Engineers, our existing equipment provides such ventilation air and much of our Referendum is focused on the replacement of that equipment which will, in turn, provide improved outside ventilation air. ▷ For rooms without mechanical means to bring in outside air, the code allows for windows that open to provide fresh air to meet the needed outside air component.

slide-39
SLIDE 39

▷ The District will be adding to the ventilation air in each classroom by opening up windows as possible and by providing window fans (where needed) which will continue to move the airflow out of the classrooms, media centers, and multi-purpose rooms.

AIR QUALITY & HVAC/FILTER MANAGEMENT

slide-40
SLIDE 40

▷ Filters are inspected regularly as part of the District’s preventive maintenance plan and replaced as per manufacturer’s recommendations; at a minimum, every three (3) months. We are employing the use of filters recommended to remove fine particles in the air.
