2017 Capital Improvements Architect’s Project Number: 216085.00 Letter of Letter of Letter of Letter of Recommendation for Contract Award Recommendation for Contract Award Recommendation for Contract Award Recommendation for Contract Award Dear Mr. Altenburg: On Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., bids were received for the 2017 Capital Improvements project in the Little Theater of OPRFHS. During the 2-1/2 week bidding period prior to this date, a total of thirty-two (32) contractors became Bidders of Record and eight (8) submitted sealed bids. The bid opening was conducted by Ron Johnson, School District 200 and Rob Wroble, Legat Architects, and witnessed by nineteen (19) attendees. Refer to the attached Bid Tabulation and Attendance Record. Legat Architects has reviewed the qualifications and references of the apparent low bidder and have found no evidence which would disqualify Madison Construction Company from being awarded the contract for all work. Legat Architects, therefore, recommends the Board of Education consider awarding the Contract for Construction to: Madison Construction Company Madison Construction Company Madison Construction Company Madison Construction Company 15657 South 70th Court Orland Park IL 60462 708.535.7716 Work is scheduled to begin, January 9, 2017 and all work is to be substantially complete by Friday, July 28, 2017. In addition to the Base Bid, Bidders were required to identify the amounts for seven alternate bids. After consultation with School District Representatives regarding the selection of alternates, Legat Architects recommends the Board of Education consider two scenarios for awarding a construction contract to Madison Construction Company:
