2.0 Minimum GPA
- Each letter grade has a numerical value
- A student’s grade point average (GPA) is cumulative,
meaning that a senior GPA calculates all grade values from every course taken in high school
- Semester Fs = ZERO points
- Semester Ds = 1 point, which means that too many Ds can
drop a student’s GPA below the 2.0 minimum
- To calculate a GPA, you add all the point values for each
letter grade, and then divide by the number of courses
85% Attendance Every Year
❑ Is attendance important to learning? ✓
- Yes. Daily attendance allows you to understand and complete classroom assignments,
which leads to good grades and advancement to higher levels. ❑ Do verified absences affect my attendance? ✓
- Yes. If you are absent and it is verified it will still decrease your attendance percentage.
❑ Remember… If you are absent, speak to your teachers and collect missing class work and homework
- assignments. If you know you will be absent ahead of time, give your teachers a heads up so
that they can provide you with any necessary assignments.
