*In the 2018 QAP, the “Set-aside” Priority now encompasses what was previously the “Special Needs” Priority. The Set-aside Priority defines two distinct population groups: Special Needs and Vulnerable Persons. The IEH Units Pilot Program is eligible with the Special Needs subset population.

Pilot Program What at is is the IEH Pil ilot P Program am?

 Two Units:

 Independence Enabling Housing (IEH) Unit

 Must be affordable  Must serve Special Needs population

 Companion Living (CL) Unit

 Can be affordable or market units  Occupant could be family member, friend, paid caregiver, etc.

 No minimum unit requirement  Maximum of 30% of total units, can be designated as IEH units in development.

 Development offering significant services, some of which, are tailored to the

Veteran tenant population

 Provided Veteran services should enhance Veteran tenant housing stability and

independence

 Work with organization that specialize in, or has substantial experience in, providing

services to Veteran populations

 Must qualify and fulfill all requirements for the Service-Enriched priority in addition

to any requirements for the Veteran’s Housing Priority
