Challenges encountered over the year

  • Budget deficiency encounters due to price fluctuation during

implementation as opposed to the situation during planning.

  • The attempts to raise funds from organizations like the

Embassy of the Czech Republic, CFLI Canada, African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) and Project Hope was not rewarding as per our expectations. However, our proposals to Union of Ethiopian Women Charitable Associations (UEWCA) were successful.

  • NMHDO in partner with ICCO had planned to deliver a tractor

for 119 women farmers at Laelay Mayichew Woreda and half

  • f the price was paid for the purchase of the John Deer

tractor. However, the tax payment, which we had not regarded during planning has stuck all the process and even devaluated our trust in the area.

SLIDE 24

livelihoods.

media materials and solar panels

  • Promoted Green Economy by scaling up the production of high value crops through small scale

irrigation on agriculture-based income diversification thereby achieving improved livelihoods to over 1280 underprivileged women.

Final Message

  • The overall accomplishment in the year went

very well as per the planned activities of the

  • rganization holding promissory

accomplishments for the future as well.

  • NMHDO had put efforts to cope up with the

escalating demands of intervention versus the staggering financial constrains.

slide-26
SLIDE 26
  • Unlike the existing strains, however, NMHDO

managed to build good relationships with different international and local

  • rganizations as well as established good

presence with regional states, particularly with Tigray government bureaus and offices to mobilize resources effectively and to create harmonious working environments. These strategies by far have contributed to the success of the organization.

slide-27
SLIDE 27
  • Finally, NMHDO would like to thank KNH, CCRDA,

SIDA/FARM AFRICA/UEWCA not only for their profound supports over this year but also for their unreserved companion in easing our challenges from the inception time.

  • The most grateful ones are, of course, you the

Board of Directors and founding members of this

  • rganization and the staff who strenuously

contributed for the realization of the vision and mission of the organization through different means of support schemes.
