  4. New City Regulations Highlights Walls and enclosed structures are now • allowed in Streateries (if they meet certain standards) All tents and canopies must be • permitted All heaters must be permitted • New streamlined process – 3 days for • city agencies to review

  5. Tents and Structures Enclosed Tents/Structures - DC Health Guidance For tents/canopies with more than one side flap or wall: • at least 5 air changes per hour, and not more than 50% recirculation of air shall be permitted For enclosed structures (i.e., plastic domes): • No more than 6 guests at a time • Must be cleaned and sanitized between parties • At least eight (8) air changes per hour. Recirculation of air is not permitted. Temperature requirements • Awaiting confirmation from DOH about 68 degree minimum

  6. Tents and Structures Calculating Air Changes Per Hour 1. Calculate cubic volume of your space – Length x Width x Height 2. Multiply by the number of air changes per hour required (5 for tents, 8 for domes) 3. Divide by 60 4. The resulting number is the minimum CFM (cubic feet/minute) speed for a fan to provide the air changes per hour. So for a hypothetical tent that is 8 ft wide, 8 ft tall, and 100 ft long): (8x8x100) x (5) / 60 = 533 This $50 fan from Staples provides CFM speeds: 1050 CFM (high), 875 CFM (medium), 750 CFM (low)

  7. Tents and Structures New Tent Permitting • All tents, canopies, structures must now be permitted. • Tents large than 400 sf require an additional permit from DCRA
