National Innovation Foundation - India Key Achievements : • Scouted and documented 225,000 innovations from 585 districts of country • Filed over 800 patents in the name of grassroots innovators, 40 applications of plant varieties under Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmer’s Right Authority PPVFRA • Supported over 1200 projects for value addition and product development • Micro Venture Innovation Fund (MVIF) set up at NIF with the support of SIDBI has provided risk capital to over 200 projects • Setup 37 community workshops • Recognized 816 innovators, students and traditional knowledge holders in national award functions • NIF organized the Festival of Innovation (FOIN) at the Rashtrapati Bhavan

  3. National Innovation Foundation - India What is IGNITE Competition? A technological idea and innovation contest for school students (upto class 12) or drop outs in the same age group . Why the IGNITE contest? To promote originality, creativity and innovative spirit among our children so that when they become leaders of our society, they ensure an imaginative, inclusive and an innovative future for the country. We want our children to be more sensitive to the problems faced by not just them and their families or neighbors but also other socially disadvantaged sections of the society.

  4. National Innovation Foundation - India When is the IGNITE Competition held? The competition is open for the students from 1 st September to August 31 every year. It is supported by HBN, CBSE, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, and other state boards. When are the awards announced? Every year the names of the winners are announced on October 15 th , which is the birthday of Former President of India and Children’s favorite, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, celebrated as Children's Creativity and Innovation Day by NIF.

Tiffin box that reminds to wash hands National Innovation Foundation - India Sheeren Sheikh Class 5, Nizamuddin West, New Delhi In order to promote the habit of hand washing before and after eating meals, she has suggested that tiffin box manufacturers should print a message, “ Wash your hands before and after eating ” . After reading the message everyday, gradually hand washing will become habit of children. Slide No.14

He has suggested that the EVM should be able to send message containing data of votes (candidate wise) cast at the booth to the Election Control Unit /District administrator.
