NHS Selection Committee

The NHS Selection Committee consists of five anonymous

teachers, chosen by the Principal.

The Committee will read EACH individual application, and

consider the comments made about the applicants by ALL of their teachers.

The Committee votes on each applicant; those applicants with

a majority vote are accepted.

The faculty advisor has no input into the selection process,

and cannot override the Selection Committee.

Applicants who are not accepted may appeal to the Principal,

whose only responsibility is to make sure the selection process was “not conducted in an arbitrary or capricious manner and that the student's materials were reviewed and voted upon.”
