❖ Be a valued member of the school and community. ❖ Service to the school and community. ❖ Foster leadership skills. ❖ Make new friends of the highest caliber. ❖ List membership on NHS application. (Membership in NJHS does not guarantee membership in NHS).. ❖ Possible future scholarships.

Candidates
Requirements ❖ Attend 6th or 7th grade at Margarita Middle School for at least one semester ❖ Cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher
Responsibilities
Admission ➔ Maintain Cumulative GPA 3.50 or higher ➔ Attend monthly meetings ➔ Complete 10+ Hours

➔ Complete required Chapter and Individual Service Projects
Membership
Induction based on excellence in all areas: ★ Outstanding Scholarship ★ Character ★ Leadership ★ Service ★ Citizenship ★ Staff Input
Once selected, Members must continue to demonstrate these qualities.
Service Projects
Characteristics of a service project ➢ Fulfills a need within the school or community ➢ Is something the individual or chapter believes in and has a genuine interest ➢ Is well-planned and thoughtfully executed
Chapter Service Projects
Candidates and Members are required to plan and participate in the Chapter’s Service Project
➢ Example Projects ○ Food & Clothing Drives ○ Adopt a Family ○ Welcome Packets ➢ Candidates and members plan and decide together
Individual Service Projects
❖ Candidates and Members are required to plan and participate in an Individual Service Project ❖ Example Projects ➢ Friendship Tables ➢ Welcome Ambassadors ➢ “LifeSaver” Bracelets
