What is MyGrid?

Funded as part of the UK governments “E-Science” initiative. “The goal of MyGrid is to design, develop and demon- strate higher level functionalities over an existing Grid infrastructure that support scientists in making use of complex distributed resources.”

Metadata

  • Service discovery without free text search.
  • More or less specific searching...

“give me a BLAST service”, “give me a sequence similarity search”.

  • Allow sanity checking.

“does searching SWISS-PROT with DNA sequence make sense”.

Workflow

How can we connect multiple services together?

Workflow

How can we connect multiple services together? How do we co-ordinate workflow enactment with the user?
