  5. Gas Connection | Service Connection Request (SCR) 1. Need to ensure that natural gas is available in your street/location. To find out you can download the list from our Multinet Gas Website (www.multinetgas.com.au) with the metering pressure available. 2. You will need to request a new gas SCR through a valid gas retailer ( submit your application – usually between the slab/frame and lock up stage & also provide an accurate “lock up” date). 3. The gas retailer will issue a SCR with Multinet Gas for the installation of the gas service line to your property. 2/5/19

  6. Gas Connection | Service Connection Request (SCR) 4. Your request will be allocated to one of our network planners who will visit the site to assess the location of the new gas service & the status of build (please ensure finish ground level is clearly marked). 5. The planner will continue to visit the site until the site is deemed ready (details of communications and site ready requirements are detailed later in this presentation). 6. Once the site is ready, this will then be dispatched to our field contractor for installation of the gas service (approx. 20 business days). 2/5/19

Gas Connection | Planner visits Network Planners will visit • your site at frequencies based on the status of the property Details of the visit will be • recorded and available for your retailer to follow up. Once your fitting line is • installed if a planner visits the property and cannot make contact with the applicant a “Your Service Connection” card will be attached to your fitting line. This card will provide details of the status of your property and contact details of your Network Planner 2/5/19

Site needs to be ready | Clean and Clear Access The site shall be clear with access available for our contractor to enter/exit the • property Address of property (Lot & House number) must be clearly visible and able to be • seen from the street No Scaffolding or other material that will not give clear access or will causea HSE • issue Be aware that location of bin/toilet may impact the ability to install the gas service • Need a separate trench – 300mm clearance from other utilities (eg water, electricity, • telco, NBN etc.) – min 450mm depth of cover Site is not acceptable Site is not acceptable 2/5/19

Trench | Trench Requirements General requirements for all trenches • Finished surface level on site shall be identified prior to works starting. • Minimum depth of cover 450mm • Minimum lateral clearance form all other assets 300mm • No other assets shall be installed above or below the gas service without Multinet Gas • approval. Gas service will be commissioned upon completion of all associated gas works • 2/5/19

Trench | Trench Requirements When Multinet Gas supplies the trench • No other assets shall be installed in the trench • When customer supplies the trench • Approval for customer to supply the trench shall be obtained from Multinet Gas • Minimum 2 weeks’ notice shall be provided the Network Planner regarding the • availability of the trench. 2/5/19

  11. Trench | Trench Requirements Shared trenches • Gas shall be last asset installed • All other assets shall have a minimum of 300mm clearance from the gas • service. Backfill material shall be Clean Fill or Bedding Sand and shall be installed • while Multinet Gas Networks or its representative is on site for the installation of the service pipe. Backfill and required machinery must be on site prior to the Gas Service • Installation or the Gas Service will not be installed. 2/5/19

  15. Gas Connection | Meter Fix Request (MFX) 1. Once the service is installed, we will advise the retailer who issued the SCR, usually within 5 business days 2. When ready to raise the MFX you will need to contact a retailer to set up your account and request a meter fix and provide all the relevant information (e.g. COC and cust details) 3. Your retailer will then issue a MFX request with Multinet Gas 4. Once the MFX is received and all information is accurate, we will dispatch our fitter to install the meter on site (usually within 1 business day) 5. If the meter position is non-compliant the meter will not be installed 6. After installation is completed your retailer will be notified within 5 business days Non compliant meter Compliant meter 2/5/19

  16. Gas Metering | Requirements Tags are required for apartment/units, multi dwellings (2+), engraved metal • attached by strong wire to tag on the fitting line (not the upstand). ID tags are required on group gas metering installations (e.g. gas meter rack) • UV Coating required for composite piping (for UV protection) • Must meet all plumbing and other general compliance requirements before the • meter installation and if failure to do so, the meter installation will not occur. Please note that: All instances of exposed composite pipe will be reported to ESV 2/5/19

  17. Meter protection | Bollards A bollard is to be installed only as a last resort option after all alternative meter • locations have been investigated and rejected by Multinet Gas. Must be approved standard Bollard – Galv Zinc Coated Mild Steel, Coated in Safety • Yellow - Post Dimensions: 100mm (O.D) x 5mm (Wall Thickness) x 900mm (Length) Other requirements may include meter enclosures etc (will be assessed accordingly • by Multinet Gas) Installation : • Sub-Surface mounted, • Concrete Footing 400mm (L) x 400mm(W) x 500mm(D) • – (or 300 mm diameter bore) • 600mm above ground, 400mm in ground. • Filled with concrete • Weight: 11 kg 2/5/19
