Day 1: Lunch: Cut lunch to be brought from home Dinner: Sausages (or Vege patties); Mashed Potatoes; Peas Dessert: Pancakes and Milo Day 2: Breakfast: Muesli and Milo Lunch: Noodles with vegetables; Cream Crackers; Biscuits and Juice
Cooking Groups
Student will be placed into groups of 6 by their teacher. They will cook for each other in these groups. NB: Special dietary needs will be taken into consideration for vegetarian and gluten free options.

Gear
A detailed gear list has been sent home and should be adhered to fully PE gear is to be worn on the first day Hat and suntan lotion are essential! All gear is to be brought to school the previous day in a named bag Phones and digital devices are allowed for photographic purposes only. They will be stored in the main tent upon arrival at camp The school provides the packs. Gear will be checked off prior to packing into the back
- pack. It is each child’s responsibility to carry
all of their own gear for the trip Food will also be distributed out amongst the students
Long range weather forecast checked beforehand All teachers and trip parents will have class medical list and Emergency Numbers list First Aid Kits at all times All potential scenarios and situations accounted for in the RAMS forms held by all teachers
RAMS and Emergency Procedures
History and stories
Early history of Maori and European settlement and involvement on Motutapu Island will be discussed throughout the tramp, allowing students to have a comprehensive camping experience. Stories from these early days will also be told, bringing the island to life.
Parent Helpers
Prior to the trip
- Ensure that you have suitable gear for the trip.
This includes socks, footwear and a waterproof jacket
- Ensure that your child’s teacher is aware of any
medical issue of your own that needs to be taken into account
During the trip
- Ensure you have a copy of the route
to be taken and timelines
- Ensure you have a copy of all
necessary medical information for the students
- Follow any directions given by the
trip leader or class teacher
- Communicate with the trip leader or
class teacher regarding any problems or concerns
- Assist the children putting up their
tents etc. (only if necessary!)
- Assist the children with cooking, only
if necessary!
- Assist supervising swimming
