Feedback

We want to facilitate feedback to HSAs More knowlede leads to better decision Seeing data being used is incentive for accurate reporting Data quality is improved

slide-5
SLIDE 5

Current situation

Time consuming to compile reports, therefore: Only quarterly meetings for giving feedback Reports have tables and figures only

DHIS 2 & DHIS Mobile

Digital data is easier to process DHIS 2 can compile reports in seconds Monthly (or weekly) feedback possible + Instant feedback possible with SMS/Phone

The paper forms

The current way of collecting data

slide-8
SLIDE 8

Papers for everything

Developing countries often lack electricity. Most information is stored on papers.

Our form

The HSA Home Visiting Form is filled out by a Health Surveilance Assistant (HSA) when visiting a pregnant woman.

Our form - The different types of data

There are 7 groups of data, and they were grouped based on the natural borders presented in the form: O Mothers data O HSA data O Visiting data O Danger Signs O Additional data O Birth plan O Supervisor approval data

Representing data in DHIS

DHIS terminology: An datafield in the form is represented by a Data Element A Data Group consists of one or many Data Elements One or more Data Groups can be assigned to a Data Set

slide-13
SLIDE 13

An example from our form

A Data Element would i.e. be the "Name" of the mother All Data Elements conserning the mother would make the Data Group 'Mothers Information' All of the Data Groups would make the Data Set representing the form.

From aggregated to name-based data

All papers, having all the information, all the time, results in a lot of replicated data. Name-based DHIS can register users and programs.
