The MSS 2013 • Given to 5 th , 8 th , 9 th and 11 th grade students statewide • In 2010, 6 th , 9 th and 12 th grade students were surveyed • 84% of Minnesota public schools participated • More than 160,000 students statewide took the survey • 285 Minnewaska students participated with 2% of surveys taken out because of inconsistencies

Parents • Most parents who were surveyed think that 40-60% of parents allow youth under the age of 21 to drink alcohol in their home. • But when asked if they think it’s ok for parents to allow their child under the age of 21 to drink at their own home, 96% said no!
