Safety & Materials Handling

Quarantining Materials

  • A 3 day quarantine is required for items placed in RAILS delivery. This

requirement is based on current information and will be in place until further information is received.

  • Clarification: the 3 day rule applies to the period after a patron has

touched an item. If it is coming from a “clean zone” it does not need quarantine (pulled off shelf by library staff after 3 months, etc).

  • It is up to the library to determine quarantine coming IN from delivery.
  • Do NOT use RAILS Delivery bins to quarantine materials!
  • Check-in: Backdate and use fine free circulation login.
