Quick Start Guide For Bake Sale:

  • 1. Advertise – parentmail/posters (templates available)

2.Get change (float) from Treasurer Ros

  • 3. Collect baked goods before school, store in school
  • 4. Retrieve plates/bags/napkins from cupboard (we can show

you!)

  • 5. Put baking out by 11:30 behind Dining Hall (janitor will help

with tables)

  • 6. Sell stuff
  • 7. Give money to Ros

8.2 HEALTH AND WELLBEING – PHYSICAL HEALTH

  • Active Challenge (200 people, 8 activity providers, 250 free

gifts, free fruit, 1 smoothie bike)

  • Flora’s Rocks

  • Our Physical Health Group needs you – we know there is a

lot of interest in supporting our Flora’s Families’ health, we need someone to lead the way!

8.3 MUSIC SCHOOL

  • Choir, Samba Band, Chamber/Fiddle group all have started

up again. Choir is before school and Samba and Chamber are at lunchtimes.

  • Junior String Orchestra started 13th September at

Broughton – children from Music School plus those who play violin and cello at Flora’s and Broughton (up to S3). They’ll perform at the Broughton Christmas Concert and the Summer Concert.

  • Twilight Recitals: twice a month at 4pm on Wednesdays at

Recital Room, Broughton High Music School. Mostly secondary music school students, but primary students do also perform (P6 student performed recently). Free and

  • pen to all. No need to book – just turn up.

8.3 MUSIC SCHOOL

  • Music School Open Day at Broughton on Saturday 2nd
  • November. Performances from music school pupils from P1

to S6 and a chance to look around the music school facilities, look in on lessons and practice sessions, etc. All welcome.

  • Closing date for applications (available online) to the Music

School (P1-S6) for the 2020-21 session is 10th January 2020. Free specialist education at Flora’s and Broughton, informal enquiries welcome ahead of the deadline.

PARENT COUNCIL CLUBS

  • Judo: Thursday after school at school. Spaces available for

P5-7, all abilities welcome. P2-4s can join waitlist.

  • Chess: We are running 2 oversubscribed lunchtime classes

at the moment. If you know of anyone who could tutor or volunteer for an after school session, please be in touch!

  • Football Teams: Two teams this year: P5 and P6, all boys and

girls welcome, no experience necessary, we play for fun! Training Monday evening, matches some Saturday mornings. Space available on both.

  • Netball Teams: Friday after school at Broughton, beginners
  • welcome. P4-7 girls
  • Ukulele: We are looking for a new teacher, and hope to

start a beginners’ class alongside our improvers’ class. More info soon!
