DebRA
Mayoral Award
- Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a very rare genetic condition
- the skin and internal body linings blister at the slightest knock or rub, causing painful, open wounds.
- DebRA was founded in 1978 by a group of parents whose children
were affected by EB.
- DebRA Groups now established in 32 countries around the world
- DebRA only national patient support group and medical research
charity in the UK for EB
- UK DebRA is the main funder of specialist EB treatment and research
facilities at national and regional level.
- DebRA relies entirely on voluntary donations.

- COATS Society was set up in the 1960s
- COATS bought Woodmancote Centre in 1970
- Residential Respite Care Home until October 2003
- COATS is a registered charity, managed 12 Trustees
- Annual turnover £166,000
(£12K from BFC/WBC)
- Charity shop raises £60,000 a year
- Minibus makes 2,100 trips a year with 11 drivers
- 144 meals per week raising £25,000
