The Ecology Centre is a community based charity The Ecology Centre is an inclusive, community-led charity that inspires positive change through bringing people and the natural environment together for the benefit of both. It’s a simple premise, but one that has been changing and influencing lives for over 20 years! Today the community owned site is a haven for wildlife, plants and those that love them. Welcoming over 5,000 visitors annually through our Education programme, the Centre provides volunteering and training opportunities on our site, Community Garden and Tool Shed and educational opportunities across a range of areas – all stimulating and all worthwhile. The Ecology Centre’s eco -friendly building on the banks of Kinghorn Loch is the perfect venue to host your workshops, classes, training days, meetings or conferences. Our venue is nestled on the banks of Kinghorn Loch with gorgeous views and nature all around. If you’re looking for a different kind of venue – you’ve come to the right place! Our unique venue has two event spaces within our main building which are available to hire exclusively for your event or you can hire each of our venue spaces individually - our venue offers you flexibility and a number of options, whatever you're planning. Our garden area – The Sanctuary which is situated within our gated area can be used as a break out space, team building area or simply to enjoy the natural surroundings during break times. We can provide event packages tailored to your bespoke conference needs. Our site is also home to our Community Garden, polytunnel and woodland walks for your attendees to enjoy or add on a guided tour as part of your day. By booking your event with us you are helping to give people of all ages and abilities a hands-on, life-changing experience of the natural world, which makes us a great choice to host your event in more ways than one. Den, Nest & Sanctuary Our Den seats around 40 delegates and our Nest, seats around 30, each can be hired independently or you can hire both spaces! The Sanctuary, our beautiful outdoor area is available as an additional space and can accommodate marquees or gazebos. Our maximum capacity is around 100 for exclusive use of the Centre and marquee hire is available for use in the Sanctuary too. Both venue spaces and our outdoor area have wonderful views of Kinghorn Loch. We offer a well-equipped commercial kitchen, included at no extra cost for you to do your own catering or we offer a selection of home cooking made with fresh, seasonal fruit, veggies and herbs grown in our Community Garden. Nest The Nest has a fabulous panoramic window showcasing Kinghorn Loch and the surrounding area. If the weather is fine you can enjoy these stunning views on our beautiful seated patio area that you can access through the Nest. You can also access the outdoor Sanctuary area, which offers a variety of functions - from seating areas to outdoor breakout spaces. If you are using the Nest you will also have access to our fully equipped kitchen if you are doing your own catering, alternatively let us take the strain off your event and provide your catering. Den The Den is the larger of our two rooms and has lovely views of the loch and provides a fantastic space for a variety of uses from presentations and boardroom meetings to exercise classes and retreat days. Sanctuary The Sanctuary is our outdoor area within the compound of the Centre which links the patio and Nest room and can be used privately for your event. The Sanctuary has fantastic views of Kinghorn Loch, and is a lovely sun trap. Situated to the right are 4 pods which are enclosed with wild flowers. During the summer months they can be used as break out areas, individual areas for exercise or simply for relaxing and reflection. Homegrown, seasonal food Let us take the strain out of your event by providing your catering. We offer a range of options - from breakfast through to your evening meal. Where possible, all the food that we provide our customers is from our Community Garden where we grow a variety of fruit, vegetables and herbs throughout the seasons. We offer wholesome, tasty soups and salads, pasta dishes and curries for our customers to enjoy. We also offer a selection of home baked breakfast items, cakes and sweet treats for that mid afternoon pick me up. For all of our other ingredients we try and source them as locally as we can and we only use Fair Trade coffee and tea. We love that our customers can see the fruit, vegetables and herbs growing in our Community Garden and know they have not travelled far! Lunch The break in the day that gives your delegates a chance to refuel, recharge and to give them a chance to catch up with colleagues. We offer light lunches comprising homemade soups or a salad bar using produce straight from our Community Garden - our and all served with fresh breads.
