Why are Classroom Conferences important for parents and teachers?
- 1. Because student success is a shared responsibility.
- 2. Because when parents provide a learning environment at
home that is aligned with the student’s needs, the student has a greater opportunity to succeed.
What is my responsibility as a parent?

i-Ready Diagnostic begins by giving students an adaptive assessment in reading or math. An adaptive assessment is a test that automatically adjusts the difficulty of the questions according to each student’s performance in

abilities in reading or math.

Each time a student gets an item incorrect, he or she will be presented with a simpler question until the diagnostic finds the grade level at which the student is performing.

Grading is on a Point Scale Every assignment is given a point value. Grades are cumulative point values converted to a percent. Final grades are assigned at the end of each quarter.

Grades are used to calculate Grade Point Average. Grades help to gauge understanding and proficiency with new concepts.

Available to all students immediately after school. Assigned when a student is missing work. Provides teacher support for students.

There is a direct correlation between missing assignments/ failing grades and iReady achievement. Parents can have the greatest impact on their child’s achievement and success by helping ensure they are doing their school work.

Weekly Schoolwork Check-In
At least once a week parents and students will discuss the student's goals and most important assignment for the
- week. Students will describe the assignment, its
