FLIGHT You might be surprised just how well connected Azerbaijan are. Baku ’ s Heydar Aliyev International Airport(GYD) , 20 km east of the capital, is the main gateway to Azerbaijan. It has direct links to major EU cities, over 20 in Russia & CIS countries plus several destinations in Turkey, Gulf and Middle East Areas.
