Call to Worship (our ancient writings usher us into this ritual) Why do we praise Christ? Based on Zechariah 3:17ff The I AM, your God, is with you! A victorious warrior! He will exult over you with joy He will be quiet in His love He will rejoice over you with singing! “I will gather those who grieve Look and see, At that time I will deal with all your oppressors I will save the lame and gather the outcast I will turn their shame into praise and renown in all the earth At that time I will bring you in Even at the time when I gather you together Indeed, I will give you renown and praise among all the peoples of the earth When I restore your fortunes before your eyes ” This is what the I AM says.

The Lord be with you And also with you. Lifu up your hearts We lifu them up to God.

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus O soul are you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness you see? Confession (we approach God, repenting from sin) Heidelberg Catechism, Question 29-30 Question 29: Why is the Son of God called Jesus, which means, a Savior? Answer: Because He saves and delivers us from our sins; and also, because we should not seek, and will never find, salvation in any other. Question 30: Do those people believe in Jesus as the only Savior, if they also seek their salvation and benefit from saints, from their own works, or from anywhere else? Answer: They do not; for although they claim Him in words, they still deny Jesus as the only deliverer and Savior by their works; for one of these things must be true: either Jesus is not a complete Savior or all things necessary for salvation are found by true faith in Him.

James 1:19-21 This you know, my beloved brethren Everyone must be quick to hear Slow to speak and slow to anger For the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness In humility receive the word implanted Which is able to save your souls.

Dear Father, We confess the filthiness and wickedness of our anger, and the sins of not listening to others and of talking too quickly. Forgive us. We humble ourselves, and ask You plant and grow Your words in our souls. We want life from You in us Holy Spirit! In Jesus’ Name we pray, amen. Silence

Let us bless the Lord! Praise Him with highest praise! What sort of church are we seeking God to make us? Acts 2:42-45 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.
