Glory be to the Father And to the Son And to the Holy Ghost As it was in the beginning, Is now and ever shall be, World without end! Amen, amen

Call to Worship Why do we worship? Daniel 7:13-14 As I watched in the night visions I saw one like the Son of Man, Coming on the clouds of heaven. And He came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him. To the Son of Man was given by the Ancient of Days: Dominion and glory and kingship, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, His kingship is one that will never be destroyed. The Lord be with you And also with you. Lifu up your hearts We lifu them up to God.

What is the son of man that You care for him?! Yet You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings You crowned him with glory and honor! Our Lord! How mighty is Your name in all the earth!

Invocation Crown Him With Many Crowns Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon His throne. Hark! How the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own. Awake, my soul, and sing of Him who died for thee, And hail Him as thy matchless King through all eternity. Crown Him the Lord of life, who triumphed over the grave, And rose victorious in the strife for those He came to save. His glories now we sing, who died, and rose on high, Who died eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die.

Crown Him the Lord of love, behold His hands and side, Rich wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified. No angel in the sky can fully bear that sight, But downward bends his burning eye at mysteries so bright. Crown Him the Lord of lords, who over all doth reign, Who once on earth, the incarnate Word, for ransomed sinners slain, Now lives in realms of light, where saints with angels sing Their songs before Him day and night, their God, Redeemer, King.

RETURN (movement 2) Confession (we approach God, repenting from sin) Heidelberg catechism, questions 5 and 6

• Q. Can you keep the law of love perfectly?
• A. No, I am inclined by nature to hate God and my neighbor.
• Q. Did God create humans so wicked and perverse?
• A. No, on the contrary, God created humans good and in His image - that is, in

true righteousness and holiness - so that they might rightly know God as their Creator, heartily love Him, and live with Him in eternal blessedness to praise and glorify Him.

Why do we confess our sin? (based on Psalm 119:152-160) Look on our suffering and rescue us For we do not forget Your law of love Plead our cause Lord Jesus, and redeem us Give us life according to Your promise Salvation is far from the unjust For they do not seek Your rules Your mercy is great, Jesus! Give us life according to Your words We have persecution and many against us But we do not swerve from Your law of love We look on the faithless with a sense of revulsion Because they do not keep Your commands Consider how we love Your words Jesus! Give us life according to Your constant love The sum total of Your word is truth And every single one of Your commands lasts forever!

Dear Father, Look on our suffering and hear us, because we have not forgotten the promises and commands of Your love. When we see our own faithlessness it grieves us - forgive us for every time we have not sought to keep Your law of

• love. We cry out for Your constant love and we trust Your love is greater than

all of our sin, because we know how truthful You are in Your promises to those who confess. Give us life by pouring out the Spirit on us! In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Silence

Absolution

(from Ezekiel 36:25-27)

I will sprinkle clean water on you And you will be clean from all your uncleannesses And from all your idols I will cleanse you I will give you a new heart And a new spirit I will put within you I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh And give you a heart of flesh I will put my Spirit within you And cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.

Let us bless the Lord! Praise Him with highest praise! What sort of church are we seeking to God to make us? Acts 2:42-45 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.
