1. What do you like about your coaching goal? 2. How has your coaching goal helped your teachers improve their instruction? 3. Rate your goal on a scale of 1-5 (5 being perfect) in the following areas:

  • 4. What changes could you create that would make your goal stronger?
  • 5. What problems came up while applying your strategies and tools?
  • 6. Is there anything I can do to support your goal attainment?

Pre-Conference Hints

  • 1. Make sure you both understand the “common

language” (Ex: Reciprocal Teaching, Gradual Release of Responsibility, formative assessments, etc.). Ask questions until you fully understand.

  • 2. The Focus/Goal sets limits and decreases

surprises.

  • 3. The Data you collect at the Classroom Visit will

drive your feedback/post-conference. What type of data will you collect and why? What will it tell you?

  • After teacher goals have been created well, conduct a

pre-conference. Make sure the data collection page that you created matches what you will “look for” in the classroom.

  • Visit the classroom and collect the data
  • Practice!!!!
  • BRING WITH YOU: teacher’s goal, your list of pre-

conference questions, data collection page completed or filled out. Staple and list school name only
