Changing the Academic Culture
Late resignation of AD/DAC a. Good athletic background but not an education degree-position evolved around an athletic interest b. I took on the AD job so we could have time to study data/needs--principals assumed the DAC for their areas If we really wanted to make improvements academically for our students we need a DAC/Academic Interventionist a. Some resistance, still an interest to hire an AD/Assistant principal b. Reviewed discipline needs over past 5 years, no data justifying an assistant principal c. Constant communication with BOE on what we were looking at to make a change in the academic atmosphere of our school
