  6. Meeting with M&E Productive Nexus Contact Person : N. Sangaran Meeting on 5 th May 2019, at MPC HQ • Key Points • Similar focus on upskilling M&E workforce; but with emphasis on TVET • M&E is too dependent on MNC – M&E subsector is an unprotected subsector – Foresee only ~40% of SMEs, with succession planning, will survive • Center of Excellence (COE) – Should not be asset-centric due to high cost of update and maintenance and obsolesce – Should provide cluster of Experts to help SMEs M&E Productivity Nexus has very wide focus from various associations e.g. jigs, dies and fixtures, plastic with knowledge and ‘know - hows’ molding, automotive parts, medical, mechanization etc
