Objectives

  • 1. Develop software modules that facilitates an efficient, quality

assured and transparent compilation of the necessary data sets for the assessments

  • 2. Develop software modules that perform in an integrated way, the

calculations included in the assessment process, e.g., flow normalization and trend analysis

  • 3. Develop software modules that summarize data sets and results in

graphics and tables adequate both for background information and for the assessments as such.

  • 4. Document the software and the calculations performed in it

Achievem ents so far

  • Kick off workshop Dec 1st, 2015
  • Working meetings Dec 2nd, 2015 and Mar 14-15, 2016
  • Simple structure SQL database structure
  • Beta version of tool that

– Queries PLUS data base (needs to be validated) – Populates DB with EMEP data – Enables web-based manual QA and gap filling with complete history logging and backup

  • Statistical tools recoded into R well in progress

Next step

  • Add SQL and Java modules that:

– Performs relevant aggregations of country-basin tables – Performs flow normalization – Populates tables on transboundary inputs – Couple statistical modules to the DB

  • Once a complete dataset up to 2014 is available and

queries to PLUS is validated – Perform the QA on PLC data

  • Initiate development of modules for result presentation
