Founding Principles from the Beginning in 2005

  • Membership: Build the membership up and serve

the members well. Be their “voice of the lake”.

  • Stewardship: Look after the lake and river because

water quality seemed to be most important concern for residents.

  • Communications: Ensure effective communications

with the members and all other stakeholders with an interest in the wellbeing of the Bonnechere River and Golden Lake.

Email note from long time volunteer John Gulland on the recognition of GLPOA by FOCA

  • Congratulations to everyone involved in

preparing the nomination and being selected as this year's recipient. I have spent most of my career working as a consultant to non- profit associations, but I have never seen a success story like GLPOA's. Working for the GLPOA board was a great pleasure for me and I appreciated the opportunity to make a modest contribution. I can't imagine a more deserving association. Way to go everyone!
