What was the motivation behind the proposal?
SLIDE 5
the planet is covered with water
common substance
Water is everywhere
SLIDE 6
Water is a finite source
SLIDE 7 Water is the main costituent of living
70 - 85 wt. % of human weight – the most important nutrition
SLIDE 8
Tree: 75 wt. % of water
SLIDE 9
Earth salt water (97 %) : fresh water (3 %)
SLIDE 10
Some facts about fresh water
70 % of this fresh water is actually frozen in the icecaps of Antarctica and Greenland. Of all the water on the earth, humans can used only about 0.3 % of this water. Such usable water is found in groundwater aquifers, rivers, and freshwater lakes.

If all the world's water were fit into a gallon jug, the fresh water available for us to use would equal only about one tablespoon.
4.5 litres

The level of grounwater in Slovenia has been geting lower since 1984, and the quality of water has also been reduced. But- how long will it last?

SLIDE 20 Aim of the RusaLCA project
- 1. To reduce the consumption of water obtained from
natural sources by up to 30 % - using remediated water from small biological wastewater treatment plant in Šentrupert
- 2. To establish of a protocol about the use of solid
waste obtained from that plant, and from nano- remediation tanks, in different types of composites for use in the construction industry.
- 3. To disseminate of knowledge and good practice
among the technical and lay public.
