Reed eeds s Sp Sprin ing M Mid iddle Sc School Session Outcomes • Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from and interact with student presenters regarding Leadership class experience • Attendees will understand how student leadership and PBIS character development go hand-in-hand • Attendees will leave with full outline of creating their own student leadership class with access to online resources

What do we do? Encouraging Student Leadership When students connect and build relationships in school they become more successful. Our goal is for students to have a voice , want to come to school, build peer relationships and strong character, and learn to be connected leaders in our community.

Student Character ● Promote Student Character - Monthly Character Assembly - Teaching a character lesson - 7 habits of Highly Effective Teens ● Welcome New Students -Goodie Bags -Sheets for clubs and activities -Tour of School Building -Join new student for first day classes ● Welcome Visitors to new school ● Back to School Night & Parent Conferences ● Student Voice to teacher PBIS Committee ○ Ex. “Incentives”: Dance vs. Movie
Student and Staff Recognition ● Recognize Student & ● Staff Appreciation Teacher Birthdays -Teacher Breakfast Sports Recognition -Custodian Appreciation ● ● Lockers - Nurse, principal, ● Announcements counselor appreciation ● Teacher Appreciation week
Encouraging Student Character Opportunities School Events ● Plan & Lead National “Random Acts of Kindness Week” ( Feb) ● Prepare & Lead Sports Pep ○ Door Decoration Contest Rally Assemblies ● Conducts a school-wide Breast -Fall Sports Cancer Fundraiser in October -Winter Sports ● Promote “Pennies for Patients” -Spring Sports Leukemia Fundraiser in Spring ● Decorate Lockers for Sports ● $2500 raised this year! ● Present Veterans Day ● Recycling - weekly Assembly (Nov) ○ Volunteer at local Recycling center ● Design Red Ribbon Week Activities

RSMS Leaders of the Pack Yearly Calendar Funding ● Students are organized in committees -Grants (school foundation) -Monthly sign up sheet -Student Store (special events/lunch) -Help others when you are finished -Concessions (sporting events) ● Plan and Join Alongside PBIS -Dances (Share profits with PBIS) ○ Quarterly Rewards Days *teachers volunteer to help supervise ○ Fall Festival - Student Reward List -Special Fundraisers (ChatterHigh, ● No Officers or Heirarchy like STUCO Made by Milk, Match-o-Matics) LEADERS ● Monthly Committees work BEST -Develops leadership in ALL students OF THE -Gets a fresh look each month PACK
