  • Joint venture between Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Shields Health Care, and

surgeons

  • What happens in an ASC?
  • Scheduled, day surgeries like colonoscopies, ear tubes, and knee ligament repair
  • Lower cost, high-quality healthcare for patients
  • ASC does not mean ambulances
  • Outpatient care = future of healthcare
  • ASC will be for-profit and will generate tax revenue for the city
  • The hospital maintains its not-for-profit status

(approximately 0.7 vehicles per minute)
