The Facilitation and Secure Identification of Low Risk Categorized and Extremist Traveller (FASTER – PrivBio) Project will demonstrate and test:

• how smartphone technologies, in conjunction with

ePassports, can enhance the early screening of travellers to Canada, while preserving and protecting traveller privacy

• how applicants could self-identify themselves

during their online immigration application with minimal human intervention or need to travel to a government office abroad

• how a digital privacy preserving client token that

authenticates the client can be created to facilitate the movement of the traveller in the travel continuum PARTNERS Lead Bidder: WorldReach Software (Technology Provider) Federal Lead: Immigration, Refugees, Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Partners: Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) Ryerson University (Privacy by Design) University of Ottawa (Biometric Security) Time Frame Partners will have 18 months to test and refine the “proof of concept” and technology demonstration CSSP Priorities’ Focus

• Development, testing, and validation of new

surveillance and interdiction technologies in the areas of biometrics and imagery that would assist national security and intelligence agencies in identifying terrorists, terrorist

their capabilities and the nature of their plans.

• Support the enhancement of targeting solutions
