Our Family Resource Centre has grown as an organisation and now employs a wide variety of staff from a range of projects and schemes: Pobal After-schools Workers FSA / Tusla Local Tusla Co-ordinator Family Support Administrator Worker Community Development Worker Staff Tus Childcare CE Breakfast Club After-schools Workers Worker Caretaker Youth Workers RSS IT / Reception Village Base Caretaker

  6. Volunteers Our FRC endeavours to include Volunteers in every aspect of the centre as we believe this inclusion is mutually beneficial to all involved. The work and commitment of local volunteers enables the FRC to carryout a wide range of activities:

  7.  Grinds for National & Secondary Schools  Homework Support  Computer Training – Information Technology Skills QQI level 4 & Computer literacy QQI Level 3  Community Education e.g. Digital Photography, Sewing, Bio-diversity.  BTEI – FETAC accredited courses : Childcare Level 4 & 5

  8.  Men's Shed  Running club  Basic Cookery  People with Disabilities Thursday social club  Women's Art Group  Jobseekers- Jobs  Women's Health – bulletins, CV and cover Boxercise, walking letter preparation, jobs group nutrition and club health,  Front house support  MAB`s,  Information advice and referral

  10.  Over 55`s Club  Outreach for the elderly  Tea dances  Social outings  North Kerry older person maintenance service  Supporting local Meals on Wheels  Elderly Christmas Party

  11.  The Afterschool’s service has grown from strength to strength; it caters for up to 50 young people per week between our 2 facilities and provides holiday activities to support parents in employment and education.  Referrals from the After-school's worker`s enable the centre to work with families in need of extra supports such as play therapy, family support, meitheals, educational support and counselling etc.

Children / Parent and Family Supports  Parenting workshops:  Parenting work shops  Paediatric First Aid  Parent & Toddler  Nutrition and  Parenting Plus 0-6 weaning years  Speech and Language  New parent support group  Baby Massage  Language & Play  Homeopathy Programme  Kids Art  Other Targeted Supports:  One to One Family Support

  13.  Girl guides, Brownies, & Ladybirds  Family Fun days & Holiday Camps  Children's Discos & Birthday Parties  Sports Access Projects : Badminton, Basketball, Futsal, Boxing and Multi Sports.

  14.  6 th Class Transition Group  Youth Drop in service  Sport and Art Development Projects  Partnership with local Youth Club  Garda Youth Diversion Projects  Referrals with Secondary Schools and Youth Mental Health Agencies  Day trips and social activities

  15.  Accommodating all our activities and service users is a major challenge due to lack of space.  Application has been submitted for Sports Capital Funding.  Planning Permission Application submitted.  Future submission to Tusla for Capital funding to extend FRC building.  Dependency on short term scheme related staff can lead to uncertainty of future projects.

  16.  Fundraising has become a key area of work and can be a strain on our staff and volunteers.  Time commitment and continuously returning to our community for support can be challenging.  Without our major fundraising efforts our services would struggle to survive.  Links with NEWKD and Kerry Group are vital to help sustain our work in the future.  Together we can help keep our Community Vibrant for many years to come!!
