Tasks at UNCW Sustainability • The tasks that I completed were related to public sociology through the community outreach aspects • Used data and information that was collected in a way to reach non-academic audiences • Became familiar with public policy and how important community input is to shaping those policies • Creating presentations to use at elementary schools to promote sustainability in children • Contributing to UNCW Sustainability’s Pinterest page for future use • Participating in discussions through Sustainabili-Tea • Many regarding the implications of policies that affect the environment

Workforce Preparation • Allowed me to work on a project that I was the head of • Forced me to become more self motivated in order to complete tasks • Allowed me to get a glimpse of public policy and how difficult it can be to work with and around to get things done • Gave me more experience in working with children • Hope to work with a non-profit or organization that focuses on disadvantaged youth

Accomplishments • The presentations that I created and the activities that I came up with to encourage children to become more sustainable • Used my voice to convey the message of sustainability and issues that I believe are truly important

COVID-19 • Presentations • Tabling on campus • Going to continue in the fall with UNCW Sustainability and makeup celebrations with the schools • Organization continued to do the work and push the message of sustainability by increasing their online presence and interacting virtually • Created plans for when everything returns to normal
