  1. Kappa Delta Sorority builds confidence and inspires action , and we have been committed to this mission since our founding in 1897. The Epsilon Tau chapter of Kappa Delta was founded at Clemson University in 1980 . Kappa Delta offers our women the confidence to excel academically, develop leadership skills, become responsible citizens, and to take action in the world. Our sisters are bound to one another through our founding ideal to “promote true friendship among the college girls of our country by inculcating into their hearts and lives those principles of truth, of honor, of duty, without which there can be no true friendship.” This past year, our chapter was recognized as the Panhellenic Chapter of the Year, an award our sisters are humbled to receive and seek each day to honor as a valued member of Kappa Delta.

  2. Kappa Deltas are inspired to act! Our national philanthropy is Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA), and we have a partnership with The Girl Scouts of the USA . Kappa Deltas also support the Confidence Coalition and incorporate this initiative into all aspects of being a sister. Each year, we host our annual Shamrock ‘n’ Run 5K to raise money for PCAA , a philanthropy committed to prevent abuse and neglect of our nation’s children. This past year, we raised over $43,000 for PCAA and The Parenting Place , our local beneficiary of PCAA in Easley, SC which focuses on programming for at- risk families to empower them to break the cycle of abuse. Our chapter looks forward to our Shamrock ‘n’ Run every March, making every year exciting and successful! Kappa Delta sisters serve as mentors and volunteers to our Girl Scouts . Our chapter hosts confidence-building programs, educational events, and campus tours with local Girl Scout troops , creating a close-knit relationship with these future leaders within our community. Philanthropy and service are center to our Kappa Delta sisterhood, and each of our sisters serve others in valuable, countless ways across our communities.

  3. Confidence is a large piece in the foundation to the Kappa Delta experience. Our sisters are committed to an initiative called the Confidence Coalition , a pledge to always strive to be confident in oneself. In addition to exemplifying this pledge as individuals, our chapter also hosts an annual “You Make Me Smile” week, in which sisters participate in activities to spread happiness and confidence across campus. The final lines of this pledge read: “ Because of me, women and girls will know that all things are possible. I commit to unite with other women to educate and encourage every woman and girl to live her best life every day.” At Clemson, people know that Kappa Deltas are confident , and we strive to spread this positivity and confidence throughout all of our interactions and the many organizations our sisters are involved in.

  4. Scholarship is a strong pillar of our Kappa Delta values. Our chapter bylaws require a 3.0 GPA for all potential new members to join our sisterhood. Our sisters are motivated by a common desire of excellence, and each day we pursue that standard and hold each other responsible to succeed in all areas of our lives. “ Let us strive for that which is honorable, beautiful, and highest .” - Kappa Delta Open Motto This open motto expresses the standards at which we hold ourselves and our sisters to as Kappa Delta women. We strive each day not only to meet this standard but to exceed it, as a united, loving, and genuine sisterhood.
