Problem/Solution Overview

On college campuses, students are constantly seeking help and

  • ffering to help others. However, the means through which

people ask for favours, which include sending mass emails or posting in a group chat, are only marginally effective. Campus Karma will provide a platform exclusively dedicated to facilitating favour exchanges so that any individual's request for help is seen be people who are willing and able to help, and a person who wants to help can easily find a request.

Tasks

We did not change our tasks from our low-fi prototype. Task 1 (Easy) : Ask for help Task 2 (Medium) : Find people to help Task 3 (Complex) : Arrange to meet for favour exchange

Change #1 - Home Screen

Users felt that our previous home screen added an unnecessary step when trying to complete tasks. Instead of

  • pening up to a menu, we

added a tab at the bottom of the screen to let the user access all primary screens in a single step. The new home screen is a feed of favour requests that the user has the

  • ption to fulfill.

Change #2 - Notifications

Instead of having a notifications tab, we separated notifications into tabs based on their function. New chat notifications will be indicated on the chat icon, which will take care of responses to requested favours, new messages, New ratings and comments are viewed in the profile screen.

Change #3

  • Profile

We added many features to the user's profile based on feedback from our test users. Some of these include a feed of past activity on the app, and both a rating that comes from other users and a "current karma" score, which is equal to favours done - favours

  • received. We also added the ability

to check another user's profile before doing them a favour in

  • rder to avoid people taking

advantage of the system without giving back.

Editing Tool

We used Figma for the medium-fi prototype Figma allowed us to import images, icons, and designs with ease. Gave a lot of flexibility in creating our own templates Easy group editing

slide-13
SLIDE 13

Figma: Cons

Linking the screens through buttons was difficult. No templates meant we had to put a lot of time into simple background screens. Model is not dynamic - all screens are hard- coded.

SLIDE 14

Prototype: Limitations

Missing some screens (such as Help) Simplified gestures such as 3D touch, long press, and swipe No account creation or login Static content Vagueness of chat bot functionality

Prototype: Wizard of Oz

Simulated Auto Messaging/Chat Bot: Choosing to connect with a user who needs help redirects to a new message with the user with an auto message and location of the person who wants to help.

Prototype: Hard-Code

All data and messaging used is hard-coded: These include home feed, users, messages, and locations.
