  5. OVERVIEW

  6. Junior Eagles Transition / Mission To promote an ongoing youth football and cheer program in Irondequoit, and to inspire in all our participants the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship and physical fitness regardless of race, color, gender or creed. The Junior Eagles firmly believe in the future of our children through academics, social achievement, and having fun and positive experiences on and off the field.

  7. Sportsmanship Good sportsmanship shouldn’t just be displayed on the field. Parents and fans also need to show it during competition. Teaching good sportsmanship to kids starts at home. As much as we like to see our children win games, remember that those wins will not translate into strong character. Good sportsmanship learned will stay in your child’s DNA for life!

  8. Partnership with IHS Eagles We pride ourselves on being the feeder program for the Irondequoit High School Eagles Football and Cheer programs. The goal of our partnership with the high school coaching staff is to help develop our players and cheerleaders to best prepare them for success on those teams. We are thankful to have access to the great coaching resources on our high school teams and look forward to continually strengthening this relationship with each and every Junior Eagles season.

  17. Participation Requirements Every family MUST participate in volunteer roles and our main fundraising event  Your Child will sit out a game if you fail to meet obligations. Game will be of Coach/Board’s choice.  There will be 2- 4 “jobs” per family, per season  Self scheduling. Sign-up list invites are sent through Sign-Up Genius, once your registration is paid in full.  Check-In 15 minutes prior to your scheduled job  Priority needs:  Medics  Team Parents If you are unable to make a scheduled job it is your responsibility to find coverage. It is not the responsible of the Coordinator to find you a replacement.

  18. Junior Eagles Attendance Policy  Your child is expected to show up on time and stay until the coach has excused them.  Your coach should be made aware of any conflicts as soon as possible and will handle each participant’s requests accordingly. If your child is going to miss ANY practices, please let his/her head coach know as soon as possible.  Absences from practices and games have to be taken seriously, due to the safety issues that are involved with the program. Excessive absences will be addressed individually by your child’s Coach and could result in the Board of Directors taking punitive action.  Please note: The month of August is critical to learn the fundamentals of football and cheerleading. It is an AYFCL mandate that a football player must have 10 hours (4 days) of conditioning practice before they can participate in full contact with pads. After the 10 hours of conditioning is completed, players will need 10 additional hours of contact practice in before they are allowed to play in a game or scrimmage. Once games begin, it is a mandate that players must have 4 hours of practice time or they can not participate in that week’s game .
