  3. Presentation of the Joint Action OBJECTIVES 1. Improve data collection , especially on mobility, at EU level; 2. Increase capacity in HWF planning and forecasting, data collection and analysis; 3. Estimate future needs in terms of skills and competences 4. Provide guidelines and stimulate action 5. Consolidate a network for HWF planning and forecasting. BENEFITS The JA will support and enable the EU and the MSs to have a better prepared European HWF for the future challenges Duration: 3 years Kick Off: December 2012

WP 4 – Data for HWF Planning • Create better understanding of terminology • Provide updated information on migration and mobility trends of the HWF • Work towards a more effective monitoring of human resources for health by providing information on data gaps and difficulties in collecting and using data for planning purposes. HU Summary of the best practices and suggestions for good methods on data structures for HWFP

  6. WP 5 – Planning methodology • Agreeing on minimum data requirements for quantitative health workforce planning • Review and assess EU existing quantitative workforce planning methods and tools • Define and try-out of guidelines on HWF planning Guidelines to implement or IT improve health workforce planning practices

  7. WP6 – Horizon scanning • Identification and classification of the various methodologies used to do qualitative health workforce planning across MSs UK • Estimation of future skills and competencies needed in the health workforce over the next 20 years. A toolkit outlining the methodologies used to estimate skills and competency needs of the future

  8. WP 7 - Sustainability • Review the project objectives and results in view of continuation and policy making • Identify the partners, individuals and organizations to continue the activities and the format of the continuation for the after JA period. BG A coherent plan for follow-up and policy making
