Things to bring

• A hat
• Travel sickness tablets
• Waterproof/Windproof top
• Trousers/Jeans/Tracksuit – 2 pairs
• Smart casual clothes for the Disco/Tarantella
• 5 t-shirts (including one with long sleeves)
• Underwear
• Socks
• Swimwear - Girls full swimming costume or tankini. Bikinis not recommended.
• Trainers/Plimsolls - There is A LOT of walking. Sensible footwear is ESSENTIAL.
• Nightwear
• Beach towel
• Small rucksack or bag for daily use
• Water bottle
• Personal wash kit, soap, shampoo, toothbrush etc.
• Personal medicines (These must be handed to Gordano staff along with the appropriate

Medical Form.)

• Sunglasses
• Sun cream (no less than factor 30)
• Insect repellent and bite cream or lotion
• Spending money (we recommend 100 Euros)
• Books/games for journey
• Camera chargers and 2 pin plug adaptor

Luggage Allowance

• Hand Baggage: You can take one piece of hand baggage into the cabin with you. Your main piece of

hand baggage is up to the dimensions 56cm x 45cm x 25cm (22in x 18in x 10in), including the handle, pockets and wheels. Your bag must fit into the bag gauge, available at the check-in area. For restrictions check https://www.gov.uk/hand-luggage-restrictions/overview

• Liquids in hand baggage There are a number of rules to remember about what to put in your hand

baggage and what to leave at home. Importantly, the word “liquids” has a wider meaning than you would perhaps think in the first instance. For example: lip balm, lip sticks, hand creams, deodorant, and hair spray are all considered liquids in this context.

• The rules:
• The liquid is in a container with a maximum volume of 100ml
• All containers must comfortably fit into a transparent, re-sealable 1 litre plastic bag, measuring

no more than 20 x 20cm

• This plastic bag must be removed from the hand baggage and shown separately to airport security
• You’ll be asked to dispose of any liquids that don’t match these requirements so it pays to take

note!

• Checked Baggage (luggage that goes into the hold) - You may check in luggage which must not

• Full board basis.
• 10 boys : 2 quadruples and 1 twin room.
• 30 girls: 6 quadruples and 2 triple rooms.

Weather – it’s warm!!!

The climate in Southern Italy can be very hot in the height of summer although refreshing coastal breezes can moderate the temperatures. Sorrento enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate with dry hot summers - temperatures can soar in July and August to more than 30 Degrees Celsius.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE HOME

· Make sure your hand luggage contains your wallet or purse, money, packed lunch (no drinks) and anything else you might need during the flight. · Make sure your hand luggage is not bigger than the specified size and you have read the note regarding hand luggage and liquids- see slide 7. · Your suitcase — check your packing list - have you packed everything? Is your suitcase within the given weight limits? - see slide 7. · MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT GORDANO SCHOOL READY FOR 9.15am ON MONDAY 3rd JULY.
