Mission Objectives
One of the main objectives of the first Indian mission to Mars is to develop the technologies required for design, planning, management and operations of an interplanetary mission. Following are the major objectives of the mission:
Design and realisation of a Mars orbiter with a capability to survive and perform Earth bound manoeuvres, cruise phase of 300 days, Mars orbit insertion / capture, and on-orbit phase around Mars. Deep space communication, navigation, mission planning and management. Incorporate autonomous features to handle contingency situations.
Exploration of Mars surface features, morphology, mineralogy and Martian atmosphere by indigenous scientific instruments.

ISAC, Bangalore SAC, Ahmedabad SPL, Trivandrum NRSC, Hyderabad MOX, Bangalore ISRO HQ, BangaloreWe have also deployed our Encryption devices
conducted End-to-End tests We got very good IPERF, FTP-GET and FTP- PUT END-TO-END bandwidth between all the connected nodes(approx 80-88 Mbps
Thanks to NKN/NIC and my colleagues from all the ISRO Centers
THANKS TO NKN
We are privileged to be part of this National asset,
i.e. National Knowledge Network
ISSDC was connected to NKN in the month of Oct
2011
Since then NKN link is very stable and smooth except some
link intermittency was observed during Feb-Apr 2013
Excellent follow up of issues from NIC, Bangalore NKN has become very critical service for ISSDC as
most of the science data dissemination and satellite
NKN to the concerned
NKN Member Corner : http://nkn.in/connectedinstitutes.php as on 16th Oct 2013 Under ISRO List
LOOKING FORWARD
All the remaining ISRO centers/units to be
connected to NKN
All the remaining ISRO nodes to be connected to
ISSDC over ISRO-DOS-VRF
Multi-Homing is in advanced stages, look forward to
complete it quickly
New Informations / WebPortals which are hosted on
NKN to be updated at one place for better knowledge sharing among members.
