  4. Logistics Where: La Quinta Inn & Suites,6020 West Hospitality Road, Tucson, AZ 85743. Tel: (520) 572-4235 (3 nights lodging included) When: April 4 – April 7 2019 Arrive by 12:30 pm. Orientation & presentation by Ken @ 1:00 pm. Travel: We will be travelling in two 15- passenger vans to our photo locations. Meals: Group Dinner – Day 2 (April 5) hosted by AHPS Safety: • All other meals are on your own.   5. What to Expect Early Departures & Late Nights! • Be prepared for predawn departures for sunrise locations (before 5:30 am). Afternoon shoots • will be returning after dark (as late as 11:30 pm or later) Stay Safe! • Temperatures can reach approximately 85°F during the day and 50°F during the evening. • We will be walking in open desert and on non ‐ maintained trails in daylight & dark. Bring your headlamps ! After dark Shooting! • Stay together • Much of our shooting time will take place after dark, please know your camera well! Expert Guidance on Location! • In the field, Ken will visit with each of you to make sure you are getting the help you need and have a chance to ask questions. • Please remember that Ken is there for everyone’s benefit. Please stay hydrated, keep your energy level up! Pay attention to the way your body feels. • Prior to every shoot, water and snacks will be provided . Our workshop team is here for you! • Stay in touch with the Photo Guides. Please speak up if you have any questions, need assistance or cannot participate in planned activity. • Please complete your Health Questionnaire. All guides carry a basic first aid kit for emergencies.

Workshop Itinerary Day 3 – Saturday, April 6 Day 1 –Thursday, April 4 • • Arrive by 12:30 pm Depart at 5:30am for the Sunrise Shoot @ Cactus Forest just • Orientation & presentation by Ken @ 1:00 pm outside of Florence (Focus: Panorama Captures) • • Mid ‐ morning we will return to hotel for rest, download images Check ‐ In the Hotel after presentation • • 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm @ Meeting Room – Share images, learn to Early Dinner – On your own build panoramas. Bring your working lunch ! • Late afternoon : Meet @ lobby and drive to Ironwood • Early Dinner (On your own) Forest National Monument for sunset & night • photography. Return to hotel by 10:00 pm Sunset & Night sky photography (Focus on Panoramas!) • Return late to the hotel – as late as 11:30pm. Day 4 – Sunday, April 7 Day 2 – Friday, April 5 • Meet at hotel lobby at 5:30am  Ironwood Forest • Sleep in late and enjoy brunch National Monument for sunrise . (Breakfast to go ) • 11:00 am @ Classroom: • • Mid Morning: Debrief @ hotel, answer questions Download images from the previous night’s shoot. • • Enjoy an early lunch together Select your best image(s) and we will process the images • 11:30am ‐ 3:30pm: Rest, download & work on your together to get the best balance of light and dark. images.   7. How to Prepare / Ken's Slides/Photos • Much of our shooting time will take place after dark so it is important to understand camera settings and functions and to be able to operate in those conditions.

  8. Gear Guidance • In the field • Camera, Remote Release, Tripod, Camera Manual • A 2 nd camera with lens /tripod if you want for star trails? • Lens suggestions • Daytime : 16 ‐ 35mm, 14 ‐ 24 mm, 24 ‐ 104mm, 70 ‐ 200mm, 300mm (or long lens for compressing cacti and other elements at sunset • Nighttime : 14mm 2.8, 14 ‐ 24mm 2.8, 16 ‐ 35mm 2.8 24mm 1.4 • Flashlight or headlamp with RED lens/light (to maintain night vision) • Bring a chair ! • Small foldable chair that you can carry with you. We will be on location for a longer time with night photography. • In class • Laptop with Charger, Card Reader, Thumb Drive • Photo Shop/Lightroom loaded
