Double Taxation Agreement

slide-18
SLIDE 18

On April 28, 2004, Bulgaria and Iran signed agreement for the avoidance of a double taxation which entered into force two years later, in June 2006 and is applicable as of 2007. An interesting aspect of the treaty with Iran are the withholding tax rates, with dividend payments taxed with 7.5 % of the gross amount and interest and royalty payments taxed with a maximum 5 % rate. Worth noting is the exemption of a tax

  • n interests paid to state, municipal and/or other government institutions.
