Climate Action Planning Process • Develop GHG Emissions Inventory for school district’s operations • Building & facilities energy use • Transportation fuel use (buses & gasoline powered vehicles) • Water use (& wastewater generation) • Solid waste generation • “Business -as- usual” Forecast • Planning • Set a reduction goal. Iowa City has adopted the following IPCC goals: • 45% below 2010 by 2030 • 100% below 2010 by 2050 • Model “reduction strategies” that will reduce emissions. • Monitoring – Future GHG inventories to measure progress
