➢The government commissions a substantial amount of training and support centrally, estimated at £40m per year in Greater Lincolnshire alone ➢Government have also asked employers and individuals to take responsibility for their own training ➢We are a small part of the picture so when we access funds for skills and training we use it to fill gaps ➢We work with Department for Education to help them understand our challenges

➢ Damien Hinds Technical Education speech December 2018 said that nationally employers are reporting difficulties finding the right skills, qualifications or experience for 42% of skilled trades vacancies. ➢ Our own research suggests that figure is even higher for Lincolnshire ➢ Apprenticeships and T Levels are an important part of the LEP strategy and will be working with Government to make sure that Lincolnshire does not miss out

Some Statistics….

➢ Residents of South Kesteven are on average the highest qualified in Greater Lincolnshire, and a little below the national average ➢ A much larger proportion of residents here are employed in managerial, director and senior occupations when compared to the East Midlands and Great Britain ➢ Like Greater Lincolnshire as a whole, South Kesteven has a higher than national average rate of 18-24 youth unemployment
