Date: Imagine that you are either Shaun, or The Lost Thing. You are going to choose part of the story and write a description of your character's thoughts at that time, in the first person. For example:
I'm definitely lost; I don't know where I am. Underneath me is a warm, soft surface made from billions of miniscule pieces. Slightly ahead of me is something noisy and blue that can move by itself - it advances towards me for a few seconds and then it turns and runs away. I'm surrounded by humans (of all shapes and sizes) and most of them are shrieking and hollering with delight. They seem to be bursting with happiness. I couldn't feel more different to them. I have been abandoned here and I feel desolate and alone. It's very isolating, being the only one of my kind. I wonder if anyone will notice me and offer to help? Someone seems to be looking at me from the top of the steps. It's a boy! His face is wearing an expression of curiosity and I think he's going to approach me. Hope is beginning to flow through my insides; maybe I am about to make a friend.
