Three Ways to Empower Your Congregation By enrolling in the Energy Services Program, non ‐ profit and faith institutions participate in three powerful energy services through a well ‐ designed process. Shine Access a zero ‐ capital ‐ cost solar array for eligible sites • PPA agreement – pay 20% less for solar power relatively to current utility rates. Assess your lighting, heating and cooling systems; Conserve gain access to rebates covering 70% of the cost of upgrades. • Upgrading to more energy efficient systems lowers energy use by 10 ‐ 25%. Replace old failing systems. Renew Power up your facility with renewable, pollution free electricity at a competitive rate • Eliminate GHG emissions and save 7 ‐ 10% 6

  7. Shine with On ‐ Site Solar Array Who is eligible? Sites with flat or south ‐ facing, unshaded roofs that • are 12 years old or younger and in good condition. Roofs should have space for a system of 20 kilowatts • ‐ 2500 ft 2 or larger. Standard terms Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Tabernacle NJ 60kW solar installation, dedicated June 2013 Zero ‐ cost installation • Price for the solar energy generated 20% below electricity supplied by your utility • during each year of the project life. Components sourced from the industry’s most respected suppliers, with the • developer covering all maintenance during project term. Standard agreement term of 20 years. What do participants receive? • Training to analyze energy efficiency in your facility with EPA Portfolio Manager software. • Education about energy saving behaviors and simple measures that require zero or minimal capital investment, lowering energy use by up to 10%. • Free, professional audits identifying opportunities to lower energy use by an additional 10 ‐ 20% by upgrading lighting, heating, and cooling equipment. • Turnkey installation of qualifying energy saving equipment with utility/state incentives that cover 70 ‐ 80% of the cost; financing for the remaining cost over a 12 ‐ 24 month period provided by a utility or third party organization. 8

  14. How to Get Started? Enroll Today! GreenFaith is seeking up to 40 Diocese of Newark congregations which will form a 3 ‐ 5 person Energy Team to carry out the program during 2014. The cost of the program is $100. Congregations may choose to invest further funds to carry out retrofits of their facility. However, the program is designed to enable institutions to cut their energy use at least by 10% without any additional expenditure.
