• rder to help us develop our proposals and ensure that we have

listened to the community.

Last year the Council held a series of discussions and workshops with local

• communities. Feedback from these events

identified a number of key priorities, including new homes. The Council has responded by announcing a programme for delivery of 600 new homes, including a minimum of 300 Council homes for rent. One of the sites that has been identified with potential to build new homes and other facilities is at Acklam Road.

New homes programme

The Council’s new homes programme aims to deliver 600 new homes including 300 council homes to rent. On the ‘First Stage’ sites identified it is proposed that a mix of different types of homes is delivered including council homes to rent and homes to buy. Grant funding has been secured from the Mayor’s

• ffice to assist with the delivery of council homes

to rent. On the Acklam Road site the aim is to deliver as many council homes to rent as possible to meet the pressing need for genuinely affordable housing.
