  4. Storey’s field Community Trust • Joint venture between University & City Council • 3 members of University senior staff & 3 city councillors • Registered charity • Sets the direction of the centre • Oversight of finance and governance

  5. Trust’s Vision for the Centre Storey’s Field Centre aims to fulfil the ambitions expressed in its unique architecture, reflecting the aspirations of the communities it serves, to be a place where a vibrant cultural and social life can inspire a sense of community and well-being.

  6. Programming Priorities • Programming activity will be purposeful and clearly feed into the Trust’s principles. • We will develop a dialogue with the community/audience from an early stage to discover what events they would like to see in their centre .

  8. Community Development Community Development Officer & Centre Manager will: • Work with local groups • Offer reduced rates & funding advice • Develop a mixed programme • Marketing support • Encourage Feedback – surveys, interviews, focus groups

Community Social nights – Quiz Night, Bingo, etc. Fitness - Zumba / Jazzercise Parent & Toddler groups Evening Activities for Children & young People Youth groups Uniform etc. BAME group meetings Credit Union meetings / CRB advice Women’s meetings Local resident group meetings Community coffee mornings Networking Lunch clubs Support group meetings Exercise classes – Yoga, Pilates, etc. Charity events Kids Parties Over 18's Parties Faith group meetings

  10. Cultural - Arts & Entertainment • Events • Education and Workshops • Participation and Performance All in partnership with local venues and arts organisations

Arts Workshops Choir Rehearsal Dance classes – Adults & Children Art Exhibitions Community/Artist in Residence Stand-up Comedy Music – Classical, folk, jazz, local bands, etc Music & Poetry – Open Mic nights Theatre – Small scale professional theatre Theatre - Community theatre Dance – Professional Dance – Local dance schools performances Satellite Shows – NT Live, MET Opera, etc. Community Cinema Citywide Festival celebrations – Open Cambridge, Festival of Ideas Local Festivals & celebrations - Eddington Feast?

  12. Commercial Bookings • Partnership with Meet Cambridge • Restricted to one or two days per week • Enhanced commercial rate in line with other Cambridge venues • Revenue generated will support the running costs of the centre

  14. Building Up to Opening • Working with Lisa Pollitt – Community Development Officer for NW • Focus on existing communities – some community projects are underway but we’d like more to happen • We’d like to talk to people in the next few weeks to develop this work
