Objective

Provide student athletes at the Avon Central School District(CSD) and Livonia Central School Districts (CSD) with increased

  • pportunities for interscholastic athletics participation at age

appropriate levels that best ensures the health and safety of all our students for the 2017 – 18 boys and girls lacrosse at the modified, JV, and varsity school year.

Commitment

Both districts are committed to providing student- athletes at Avon CSD and Livonia CSD opportunities for interscholastic athletics participation. This will be a one-year agreement

Sample Schedule --- Home games will be split. Most scrimmages early off will be at Avon due to weather. Normally we would schedule away scrimmages

Boys Program Highlights

Coaches

  • Goal is to have 2 coaches at each level ( 1 per school)
  • Coaches are co-coaches so both districts have an equal say and coaches work things out

together Practice Schedules

  • Roughly equal at both locations - May utilize turf earlier in season
  • Weather is always a question mark in Spring – communicate changes best we can

Tryouts

  • Coaches will evaluate together
  • Practice all together 9-12 if weather allows it
  • If can’t practice together, athletes will go to their respected levels to start
  • Bringing kids up. They must play and have significant contribution – not riding the bench

Open gym

  • Will begin to combine on Sunday’s starting 2/11 in Livonia for grades 9-12
  • If Weather permits will utilize the turf

  • Team name: Avon/Livonia Lakers
  • Varsity will get new uniforms and helmets

  • JV - utilize all Livonia uniforms and helmets
  • Modified - utilize Avon uniforms and helmets
  • Athletes can use existing elbow or gloves

Transportation

  • Transportation to and from away contests- Shared
  • Transportation to and from the other district for necessary

practices and contests- District responsibility

  • Livonia practices and games will be at Livonia

as in past years – Avon will join us.

  • They do not have girls lacrosse – take time for

them to develop numbers

  • Avon turf will be available to us at times
  • Team name – Livonia Bulldogs
  • Sectional level – Class D (stays the same)

  • Section V Approval

Scheduled - Feb 17th Start of Spring sports – JV and Varsity March 5th Start of Modified Lacrosse March 19th
