Review of our 2019-2020 School Wide Plan and Goals continued

2019-2020 Academic Goals Goal 1: During the school year 80% of 3rd - 5th Grade students and 70% of K-2nd Grade students will perform at 80% or above on post common formative assessments in grades K-5. In addition 80% of LGE students will perform at the developing to distinguished level on the Georgia Milestone in the area of ELA (40% performing at proficient or above). Goal 2: During the school year 80% of 3rd-5th Grade and 70% K-2nd Grade students will perform at 80% or above on post common formative

  • assessments. Also, 80% of LGE students will perform at the Developing

through Distinguished level on Math on the Georgia Milestone Assessment (40% performing at proficient or above).

Review of our School-Parent Compact (2019-2020)

  • A School–Parent Compact is a written agreement between the school, the

students and the parents of children participating in Title I programs that:

  • Identifies and outlines the activities that the parents, school staff, and

students will undertake to build and develop a partnership to help the children achieve to the state’s high academic standards.

  • Components of our Compact that need your input:
  • Ways parents, the entire school staff, and students will share the

responsibility for improved student academic achievement

  • How all stakeholders will build and develop a partnership to help

children achieve the challenging State academic standards

  • LGE parents are asked to provide input on the plan in the Spring and

the Fall of each year.

  • Parent input provided will be reviewed and considered during the

creation of the final copy of our 2020- 2021 School-Parent Compact.

How We Spent our 2019-2020 Title I Funds

As a Title I School, we are allocated additional (supplemental) funds to support our students who are academically at-risk. During the 2019-2020 school year, we used our funds the to support the following programs/initiatives: Staff Salaries

  • 2 – Title I Teachers
  • 1 – Parent Involvement Professional
  • 1 – Math Instructional Lead Teacher

  • Instructional Supplies
  • Parent Involvement

Additional Funds for Parent Engagement

In addition to supporting our students, we also set aside funds to support efforts to build the capacity of our families in order for them to support learning at home. During the 2019-2020 SY Title I funds were utilized to support our Parent & Family Engagement Program the following way:

  • Parent Involvement Professional (salary)
  • Resources for families to use at home (Family Resource Center)

Building Staff Capacity – Stakeholder Feedback

“Our school will educate teachers, specialized instructional support personnel, administration and all other staff with the assistance of parents in the value and utility of contributions of parents, and in how to reach out to, communicate with, and work with parents as equal partners. We will implement and coordinate parent programs, and work to build ties between parents and our school. During the 2019-2020 year, we trained our staff on the following topics:
