UTECH LABS � � Computer Labs – student funded facilities � � 23 locations – 9 staffed and 14 unstaffed � � Offering 100+ hours of staffed availability each week when classes are in session � � Services Provided – to students, faculty, staff � � 575 Windows 7 and Mac OS X workstations (184 are dual-boot systems) � � Laser printing and flatbed scanning � � 70 lab assistants and support staff to answer questions, maintain rooms and equipment � � Over 2700 hours of computer lab usage for classroom instruction

FY12 ACCOMPLISHMENTS � � 4-year equipment rotation (223 Dells and iMacs retired and replaced) � � Some Dell desktops replaced with laptops � � Printing data = > 4,271,880 pages printed the past year � � Login data = > 523,440 logins in labs since August 2011 � � 22 TB of data pushed to labs annually (excluding repair/maintenance which adds an additional 6 TB of data) � � Installation of uTech signage on all uTech supported student labs � � Began implementation of uTech Lab Task Force recommendations � � Pilot print management solution � � Pilot an advanced collaborative learning environment in Malpass Library � � Implement group and laptop workspaces in labs where possible

PRINT MANAGEMENT � � Stipes Hall 307 computer lab – 2 print release stations installed before Spring 2012 classes began � � Offering Webprint capabilities for personal laptop printing � � 134,700 total pages printed from 21,810 different jobs submitted since installation � � Averaging 6 pages per job – more on this coming from Kevin Morgan.
